Tuesday morning couch potato report

OK. We have a lot to discuss this morning from the ever-so fascinating world of mainstream television. Let's dive right in, shall we?

My beloved show, The Hills, had its season finale last night. I don't know what it is, but the manufactured drama is really starting to annoy me. Could it be that I've finally outgrown my love for Lauren Conrad? Say it isn't so! I DVR'd the after-show and although I haven't watched it yet, I hear there's a preview of another season that's coming along soon. Thank goodness. Doing my nails during The Deadliest Catch just isn't as fabulous...

The new season of American Gladiators premiered last night and is still hosted by Hulk Hogan and Leila Ali. SO obnoxious, this show is. I like the addition of water to some of the events, but do we really need to see pictures of the crowd holding up signs that they clearly didn't make and doing silly choreography to songs like "Another One Bites the Dust" after each event? The show's always been a bit campy, but has now crossed over into cheeseball-land. I'm still gonna watch it though. It's still better than Dancing With the Stars. Word.

Speaking of dancing, and thanks to Ted's sweet countdown widget, I know there are roughly nine days remaining until So You Think You Can Dance? returns for season 4. I am SO excited! I can't wait to see this season's crop of dancers and pick early favorites, although no one (at least in my mind) will ever be able to top Danny Tidwell. Remember him? If not, here's a refresher:

I had serious trouble picking just one vid to post here. Everything he does is beyond perfection and so beautiful. And he really does make it look effortless. Danny is the Frenchie Davis of SYTYCD? Neither of them won their respective competitions, but in my opinion, no contestant has the same level of talent. I can't imagine anyone coming along that could top Danny's technique. He is sublime. That said, I'm excited to see what the newest crop of dancers bring. YAY! Only nine days to go!
